Work At Home Mom Summer Survival Guide
Copyright 2011, Richard Driver
Working at home during the summer to make money on the Internet creates challenges for the work at home mom (WAHM). As the summer begins, there’s a lot to keep the kids entertained and give Mom time to work on her business. But as the summer progresses, children oftentimes become bored and complain to mom that there nothing for them to do. At first these complaints can easily be dismissed with the thought that the children will forget about being bored, but when the complaints become too numerous, many mild mannered Moms want to throw up their hands in complete desperation and start planning an escape route.
Moms can’t escape for too long, however, because kids have an uncanny knack of always finding the hiding spot. So what can you do as a work at home mom to keep your business in tact during the summer months when the children are effectively running the show?
It depends on how willing or able you are to adjust your normal online business work at home schedule to meet the ever changing demands of tireless children? And believe me, as you probably know too well, it takes a lot more endurance to do this and hang with it than it does to do engage in some exercise programs. But for the sake of your business and good will of your children, its well worth the effort.
A recommendation by Leslie Spencer, founder of Home Based Working Home, suggests using a laptop with a wireless internet connection. That way you’ll be a mobile mom, able to make money online and take your work anywhere your kids go.
Other than adjusting your mindset to a willingness to adjust your normal Internet marketing work at home day to meet your children’s summer demands, adequate planning, preparation and being realistic can help make your life less stressful. So before summer vacation begins, do these two things: Spend some time in research to find local youth programs being offered and enroll your children; Make lists of ‘things to do’ and have ready all of the needed supplies so your school age children can entertain themselves.
And above all, be realistic by coming to terms with the fact that you most likely will not be quite as productive during the summer months as you want, so schedule your work to make the best use of your time.
Summer challenges with children is something that many work at home moms have to learn to deal with in their quest to make money online. But by following the above advice you can adequately meet the challenge. So stay focused mom on your work at home business, follow the above advice, and the summer vacation with your kids will be over before you know it, and you will realize that it all is just one recurring part of a work at home mom’s (WAHM) life.
